Structural Integration

A Tensegrity Model, demonstrating how the bones ‘float’ in dynamic balance, within the myofascial structures of the body.

Structural Integration (SI) is a body work system developed by Ida Rolf.

This method of work takes place in 90 minute sessions over 10 sessions in total.

In these meetings we engage in hands-on body work and also simple movement practices to help bring balance back into our structure.

In SI we work with fascia as well as muscles with the aim of bringing dynamic balance back into our body whether it be in movement or stillness. It has the added benefit of helping reduce physical discomfort and restrictions as well as calming the nervous system.

Some time is spent in each session looking at movement re-patterning to help us discover graceful embodiment. In these sessions we see a shift into balance around our axis and discover the pleasure of easeful movement within the field of gravity.
